Humanity & Inclusion Kirghizistan. Sewing lessons provided as part of the vocational training program

Actions in process

In this country where the population is very poor, Humanity & Inclusion was carrying out a project to promote the economic inclusion of people with disabilities in a northern province. They were trained in sewing or in cooking ready-made meals and benefited from micro-subsidies to start their business of manufacturing and selling handcrafts, ready-made meals, fruit and vegetables, etc.

The association also taught teachers in vocational training centres educational methods adapted to people with disabilities. It raised awareness among social workers, organisations of people with disabilities and representatives of the employment office of the specific support for people with disabilities.

At the same time, Humanity & Inclusion was strengthening the technical and management skills of disabled people's organisations so that they'd encourage vocational training institutions to improve the reception of disabled people, and more broadly so that they could campaign to improve their quality of life.

Humanity & Inclusion has ended its actions in Kirghizistan.
