The third Global Disability Summit (GDS) will be held in Berlin, Germany, on 2 and 3 April 2025. It will be a key moment to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and to achieve meaningful and systematic inclusion of persons with disabilities in international development. Handicap International - Humanity & Inclusion (HI) submits a series of commitments on this occasion.
As a long-standing advocate for disability rights and inclusion, HI reaffirms its commitment to fostering a world where persons with disabilities have equal access to opportunities, services, and rights.
For the Global Disability Summit 2025, HI is submitting a series of commitments across multiple sectors, including rehabilitation, inclusive health, sexual and reproductive health, mental health, protection, disaster risk reduction, economic inclusion, inclusive governance, inclusive humanitarian action and accessibility.
These commitments rooted in meaningful partnerships with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), emphasize gender and age-sensitive approaches, innovative solutions such as digital rehabilitation and assistive technologies, and strengthening the participation and empowerment of persons with disabilities.
