Through its ‘Liimba’ project, Handicap International / Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is collecting prostheses to recondition their components. The aim is to enable the world's most vulnerable people to have access to them and regain their mobility.

With limited access to orthopaedic devices for amputees worldwide, Handicap International / Humanity & Inclusion's (HI) Liimba project is the only orthopaedic component reconditioning circuit in France and Europe.

For over 15 years, volunteers from the association have been collecting prostheses that are no longer in use and reconditioning them in its workshop in Vénissieux near Lyon. Reusable components are sorted, cleaned and checked to make them as new as possible before being sent to HI's partner centres in the field.

Why the name ‘Liimba’? How can you support the project as an individual, volunteer, orthotist, foundation or company?
